Performing Arts Workshops

Industry-led training that inspires students through real-world performance insight.

RISE Performing Arts Workshops bring professional artists directly into schools to work with dance, drama, music and theatre students in a meaningful, practical and deeply inspiring way.

Led by Jackie Scott and joined by leading industry professionals, these workshops combine professional performance training with the mindset, confidence and resilience work that sits at the heart of RISE.

Students don’t just learn technique.

They learn how to perform with confidence, take feedback, manage pressure, understand their own blocks and believe in their ability to grow.

Where industry experience meets a deep understanding of young people

RISE comes from the professional performing arts world - but our work is grounded in education, wellbeing and a deep understanding of how young people think, feel and develop.

Jackie Scott has spent more than 30 years working with young people, from students finding their confidence to mentoring performers now working across Broadway, the West End, Disney productions, film, television and Australian theatre.

She understands young performers at every stage.

And she knows that talent alone is not enough.

Confidence, resilience, mindset and self-belief are essential for students to perform at their best.

Who students may work with

• musical theatre performers
• professional dancers
• actors
• musicians
• choreographers
• directors
• vocalists
• screen and stage performers

This is the RISE difference.

Every artist who works with RISE is currently working professionally in the industry and brings significant real-world credits and experience into the room.

Our mentors do not arrive as distant guest speakers. They work with students directly -on the floor, in rehearsal and in conversation while sharing the RISE philosophy of confidence, resilience, respect and genuine care for young people.

Students experience what it feels like to be guided by professionals who are not only exceptional artists, but deeply committed mentors.

RISE works closely with teachers to understand where students are at, tailoring each workshop to support and elevate the learning already taking place.

Why confidence matters in performing arts education

Performing arts students are constantly asked to be brave.

They are asked to stand in front of others, take risks, use their voice, express emotion, receive feedback and keep going when things feel difficult.

This can be deeply empowering - but also confronting.

That is why confidence and mindset work is essential.

A student may have strong technique but still hold back.

They may understand the choreography but not trust themselves enough to perform fully.

They may have the voice, the skill or the idea - but fear judgement, failure or standing out.

Jackie’s confidence sessions help students understand what gets in their way and how to move through it.

When students feel safe, supported and confident, their performance improves.

They take direction more openly.

They contribute more creatively.

They take greater risks.

They begin to perform with authenticity, courage and purpose.

Supporting teachers and strengthening student outcomes

RISE workshops are designed to support and respect the work already being done by teachers.

Our artists enter the room as collaborators — building on the teacher’s direction, strengthening student confidence and offering a fresh professional perspective.

For students, the presence of an industry artist can be incredibly powerful. It helps them see what is possible and connects classroom learning to the real world.

A RISE workshop is more than a masterclass

It is a real-world learning experience.

It brings together professional artistry, educational understanding and the unique RISE focus on mindset, confidence and wellbeing.

Every student is encouraged to be brave, curious and open.

Every student is seen.

And every workshop is designed to leave a lasting impact.

Students leave with

• stronger confidence
• greater performance clarity
• practical industry feedback
• deeper self-belief
• improved resilience
• greater understanding of professional expectations
• renewed motivation and purpose

Most importantly, students leave feeling seen, inspired and more capable of stepping fully into their work.
